Operating rules
General conditions
- These operating rules apply to the running of the lifts and the use of the ski runs within the designated area (the area).
- Participants and visitors using the ski lift and the ski runs are obliged to follow these operating rules, the applicable law, and the instructions of the operator of the lift and the runs (the area operator).
- The area operator is not liable for damage to the property or health of a visitor where this is caused by conduct that does not comply with these operating rules.
- Compliance with these operating rules may be checked by persons authorised by the operator. Every member of staff of Skiareál Potůčky is an authorised person.
Lift operation
- Operation of the lifts depends on snow and weather conditions.
- In the winter months the lifts run for the public daily from 9:00 to 16:00, followed by night skiing from 17:00 to 20:00. Any operation outside these hours is announced by the operator.
- By buying a ticket, the visitor undertakes to respect the contractual conditions set out in these operating rules throughout the area.
- A person being carried is obliged in particular: to carry a valid ticket and to present it on request to an authorised person of the operator.
- The ticket is activated at the first pass through the turnstile and is bound to its holder, and is therefore non-transferable. Breach of this condition, where the ticket is used by an unauthorised person, may lead to the ticket being blocked in the electronic access system.
- To follow the instructions of an authorised person of the operator.
- A ticket means a ticket for a single ride, or a time ticket entitling the visitor to several single rides within its validity and designated scope.
- When buying a season pass the customer gives their first name and surname. By purchasing a season pass the customer consents to the processing of personal data to that extent.
- Skiareál Potůčky, as the controller of personal data, processes customers' personal data in order to protect the company against the misuse of tickets by anyone other than the pass holder, in accordance with Section 5(1)(a) of Act No. 101/2000 Coll.
- The operator will refund the fare or part of it in one case only: an interruption of the electricity supply across the whole area lasting more than two hours.
- In other cases the fare is not refunded.
- An authorised person of the operator may confiscate a ticket without refunding its face value where the ticket has been deliberately damaged or altered, or its data otherwise tampered with, and likewise in the event of a serious breach of these operating rules in using the lift or the runs. Tickets are not transferable to another person. On inspection the customer must produce the receipt for the ticket being checked. If no receipt is produced, the operator may withdraw the ticket from use.
- Children under 6 who cannot ride the lift unaided may be carried only on a two-person tow, accompanied by an adult. Those being carried must follow the instructions of the lift attendant.
- In the event of a fall during the ride, the lift track must be left immediately.
- An authorised person of the operator may refuse use of the lift to anyone under the influence of alcohol or addictive substances, or who endangers or unreasonably obstructs other visitors.
- The deposit on a ski pass is refundable at the Skiareál Potůčky ticket office.
Operation of the ski runs
- The ski runs are open during the operating hours of the lifts.
- The runs are groomed mainly after the lifts close. For that reason the runs are closed 15 minutes after operations end, and entering them is strictly prohibited because of the risk of injury. Additional grooming may take place during operating hours depending on snow and weather conditions; in that case the snow vehicles carry a warning light.
- Snowmaking may also take place while the run is open. The snowmaking equipment is marked at a sufficient distance, or fenced off with a barrier or netting. While it is running, visitors must adjust their speed accordingly and must not endanger others.
- On the groomed run, visitors — skiers and snowboarders — proceed at their own risk, and the operator is not liable for damage caused by weather and climatic conditions. Participants must take care of their own safety and that of others. Safe conduct on the runs is set out in the „10 FIS rules“ and the recommendation ČSN O1 8027.
- Failure to observe the following rules of conduct on the runs and lifts may be grounds for excluding a visitor from the area: every visitor must adjust their speed to their ability, to the difficulty and condition of the run, to the weather and to visibility.
- Overtaking on the run is permitted on either side.
- Stopping on blind or busy sections of the runs is prohibited.
- Building any obstacles or snow features on the runs without the operator's consent is prohibited.
- Skiing off the marked runs, in the forest, is prohibited.
- Everyone on the runs is obliged to assist an injured person and to report the accident to the operator's staff or to Mountain Rescue, tel.: +420 1210 or 112.
- Every visitor must observe these rules and the instructions of the operator's authorised persons or of Mountain Rescue staff. In the event of a breach, the visitor may be excluded from carriage on the lift and from use of the runs, and is fully liable for any damage thereby caused to the area operator or to third parties.
- Sledging and tobogganing are strictly prohibited on the ski runs.
- The operator reserves the right to permit training and competitions for skiers and snowboarders on a defined section of the run, by prior arrangement. That section will be clearly marked by the operator.
- During ski lessons, the supervising member of staff is responsible for organising the lesson, for the safety of those in their charge, and for ensuring that other visitors are not endangered.
These operating rules have been in force since 15 November 2022.
Thank you for observing the operating rules.
